Centers for Disease Control and Prevention NCID Laboratory/Vivarium Facility

The primary goal of this project is to address the issues of program constriction, scattered research programs, and outdated facilities at the CDC Roybal campus with a new laboratory and vivarium facility.  The Building 23 Facility will provide laboratories, vivaria, insectary, interstitial and support space to continue the laboratory consolidation effort.  The building has four levels below grade and twelve levels above grade.  The building is a post-tensioned concrete frame with shearwalls below grade founded upon spread footings bearing on rock.
